A level results 2018: LSU results continue to rise, bucking the national trend

We are proud and delighted to be able to share with you the successes of our Year 13 students. La Sainte Union Sixth Form students have achieved an excellent set of A level results.

50% of all grades A*-B
80% of all grades A*-C
98% of all grades A*-E

This year, students and teachers faced the particular challenge of reformed A levels, with no past papers available. These results are a credit to the expertise of our staff and the work ethic of our students. Most of our sixth formers go on to university and some go on to prestigious apprenticeships. Many students are celebrating obtaining a string of A grades. A special well done to Helen Sutton who achieved 4 A* grades in maths, further maths, chemistry and physics. She is going on to study engineering at the university of Cambridge.

Congratulations to all our students!

Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to La Sainte Union, a Roman Catholic 11-18 school for girls – with boys admitted in the Sixth Form – which provides young people with a wealth of opportunities to grow spiritually, personally and academically in a calm and orderly environment.

Our governors, staff, students and parents together form a thriving and caring learning community, where a strong work ethic is combined with a deep commitment to the Gospel values of compassion, tolerance and respect. Inspiring teaching is based on a traditional and academic curriculum, and the school offers a broad range of extra-curricular activities and trips. All students at La Sainte Union have high expectations of themselves, and we enable them to develop their talents, and realise their potential. Relentless focus on academic progress and character development ensures our students’ excellence. Their outstanding examination results, their sporting triumphs, and their accomplished musical and theatrical performances are proud testimony to this.

Please browse our website for a fuller flavour of our ethos and achievements. Prospective parents and guardians will learn more about us by visiting our unique school at one of our Open Events: I very much look forward to meeting you and your children!
