CAREERS INFORMATION FOR TEACHERS AND EDUCATION STAFF
As teachers and education staff, we are acutely aware of the value of Careers education.
We are in a unique position to support students by:
- Helping them develop specific and transferable workplace skills
- Providing employer and provider encounters through our subjects
- Linking our subjects to potential career pathways
- Showcasing FE, HE and apprenticeship pathways
- Giving labour market insights
- Demonstrating interdisciplinary links for the workplace, such as Art and Computer Science or Ethics and Medicine. (A great example of the interdisciplinary approach is one of our local HE partners, the London Interdisciplinary School).
Here are the resources which we find useful here at La Sainte Union – do bear in mind that a few of these are local, rather than national. Please contact us if you need peer-to-peer support with your programme, or if there are any other great resources you would like to share with us.

Teaching Workplace Skills
In many schools, teaching skills will be a whole-school approach in light of the Skills for Jobs white paper, so you may wish to speak to your Careers Leader, but here are some ideas.
