Alice
Former St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School pupil, Alice, is a bubbly and energetic student with a passion for the performing arts. From an early age, she has dreamed of pursuing a career in acting, whether it's gracing the silver screen or captivating audiences on stage. Her love for storytelling and the magic of performance was ignited by none other than the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Walking through the halls of La Sainte Union, Alice often finds herself transported to Hogwarts, where every corner echoes with grandeur and charm.
It comes as no surprise that Alice’s favourite subject is drama. She has thoroughly enjoyed her drama classes, after school clubs and school productions, honing her acting skills whilst also flourishing into a confident, expressive young woman. Beyond the spotlight, Alice has also participated in football club and is mastering self-defence techniques in Taekwondo/Karate. She thrives on the diverse range of opportunities available at La Sainte Union, seizing every chance to expand her horizons and acquire new skills.
When asked about her experience so far, Alice cites the exceptional curriculum, dedicated teachers and supportive environment. Making friends has been effortless and she cherishes the sense of belonging that permeates every aspect of school life.

Laura
Former St Agnes Catholic Primary School pupil, Laura, is a kind-hearted student with her heart set on making a difference in the world of medicine. Growing up in a nurturing environment where she supported her mum in caring for her disabled Nan, Laura developed a profound sense of empathy and a strong desire to help others.
Laura has thrown herself into life at La Sainte Union. Whether it be in the performing arts, lending her voice to the choir, playing violin in the orchestra or kicking a ball on the football field, she approaches each endeavour with enthusiasm. At the end of the school year Laura eagerly anticipates the reward trip, a well-deserved break from the rigours of academic pursuits. She appreciates La Sainte Union’s recognition of students’ achievements and its commitment to celebrating success. To Laura, these moments of acknowledgment serve as encouragement to continue striving for excellence and embracing new challenges with determination.

Xyrah
Xyrah, a former pupil of St John Evangelist RC Primary School, has seamlessly transitioned into secondary school life at La Sainte Union, embracing new experiences and making new friends with ease.
With a curious mind and a zest for learning, Xyrah has embraced the diverse range of opportunities La Sainte Union has to offer. Whether experimenting with codes during computer science or bringing ideas to life in design technology, Xyrah's imagination and creativity shine through. Her enthusiasm extends beyond the classroom, as she participates in textiles club, knitting and crochet club and computer science club, channelling her passion for creation into every stitch, loop and line of code. Xyrah has a keen interest in robotics, citing how she is mesmerised by its advancement in many areas of life around the world, and dreams of a future career as an engineer.
What Xyrah is looking forward to most at La Sainte Union is the MFL Department’s trip to Spain. Having never travelled outside of the UK before, Xyrah is excited about the prospect of exploring a new culture and language whilst creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Selin
Having grown up in a household that has had two dogs, three cats and two turtles, Selin's aspiration is to pursue a career as a veterinarian. She believes her time at La Sainte Union will support her with this pathway thanks to the dedicated teachers, myriad of opportunities and comprehensive careers support available to students.
Selin enjoys the wide range of subjects and extra-curricular activities on offer at La Sainte Union. She is appreciating the art of creative writing in English, experimenting with new recipes as she whips up fun and interesting dishes in food technology, and engaging in exciting experiments in the science lab. Through PSHE lessons, she learns the importance of respect, empathy and kindness – values that resonate deeply with her. Outside the classroom, Selin channels her energy into handball, relishing the opportunity to engage in physical activity and teamwork after school.

Keziah
Keziah brings a spark of enthusiasm and a love for the stage to La Sainte Union. As the sole representative from her previous school, St Saviour's CE Primary School, Keziah found La Sainte Union’s Induction Day and Summer School invaluable in helping her to make friends and ease into her new environment before her first day in September arrived.
Now fully immersed in life at La Sainte Union, Keziah marvels at how much she has learnt and grown in such a short space of time. She praises the school’s supportive teachers who encourage her to push boundaries and strive for excellence as well as the school’s emphasis on independence and resilience for fostering her confidence to take charge of her own learning.
Drama holds a special place in Keziah's heart, serving as a platform for self-expression, creativity and personal growth. She finds comfort in the freedom to be herself and loves to unleash her imagination through improvisation. She is a proud member of the drama club and is looking forward to the upcoming school production of Chicago.

Mayah
Mayah found the step up from primary school initially daunting, but she needn’t have worried as she quickly discovered a warm and supportive community that eased her transition into secondary education. Now a vibrant and engaged member of the La Sainte Union family, Mayah thrives on the diverse experiences and opportunities available at the school. She is enjoying her English, drama, and PE lessons and participates in a host of extracurricular clubs and activities beyond the classroom, from basketball, football and handball to Latin, choir and trumpet tuition.
With a passion for the Earth and a keen interest in history, Mayah has an ambition of becoming a palaeontologist. She believes La Sainte Union is nurturing her aspirations and credits her teachers for getting to know her as an individual and supporting her learning in so many creative ways.

Edith, a former pupil of Montem Primary School, is a professional athlete in the making. She thrives on the competitive nature of sport as well as the health benefits it brings, and she admires the camaraderie of team sports. One of the crowning moments of Edith's time at La Sainte Union came during Sports Day where she clinched the silver medal in both track and field events. It was a testament to not only her speed, agility and skill but her hard work and determination – a glimpse of the bright, bold future that lies ahead of her.

Kaelyn
From the moment Kaelyn stepped through the grand doors of La Sainte Union, she knew she was destined for greatness, fuelled by her aspirations to secure a place at a prestigious Russell Group university, namely The University of Cambridge, and to pursue a career as a pharmaceutical scientist to research drugs and vaccines.
When she's not in the science lab, Kaelyn loves delving into history, recognising its profound impact on shaping the present and future. To Kaelyn, learning from the mistakes and triumphs of the past is essential for creating a brighter tomorrow. Outside of academia, Kaelyn is an admirable example of a well-rounded student, participating in a range of extracurricular activities, from training with Bloomsbury Football Academy to engaging in local and national debating competitions. As a La Sainte Union Music Scholar, Kaelyn can also be found showcasing her exceptional talent in the school’s productions or in the school and sixth form choirs. One of her proudest moments was performing a solo piece on the prestigious Royal Albert Hall stage at the Camden Schools' Music Festival.
Kaelyn travels a long way to come to La Sainte Union, but she wouldn't have it any other way. Niyat
Niyat, a former pupil of Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, is a self-professed all-rounder who foresees a future as an architect to make use of her deep passion for numbers and creativity. She finds joy in the intricacies of mathematics, relishing the moments when complex theories click into place, and the world of colours, shapes and textures to express her imagination in art.
Niyat's interests extend beyond just mathematics and art. She is a keen sportswoman, enjoying basketball, badminton, volleyball and fencing; socialising with friends; and exploring new places, museums and galleries through the school’s many trips. Sakina, a former pupil of St Luke's CE School, is a young woman with ambitions inspired by her father's passion for aviation. With her sights set on the skies, she dreams of becoming a pilot, soaring to new heights and exploring the world from above.
Sakina’s journey at La Sainte Union has been filled with enriching experiences. One of her highlights was a school trip to Spain, where she had the opportunity to immerse herself in a new culture and language whilst exploring different architecture and cuisine. Beyond the classroom, she enjoys learning new skills and developing new interests and talents through activities such as the Manga club.
Sakina attributes her time at La Sainte Union to her personal development, noting how she has grown into a more responsible and confident young woman. This newfound sense of empowerment is evident in her volunteer work outside of school, where she dedicates her time to mentoring young children at a local youth club.

Shelly
Shelly is a young woman who believes strongly in sharing her opinions and standing up for what she believes in, paving a way towards a career in law or politics. Every aspect of her education at La Sainte Union is setting her up to pursue one of these pathways, from confidently performing in school productions to crafting persuasive arguments in her English lessons. La Sainte Union's nurturing environment and excellent pastoral support have also encouraged Shelly to communicate her feelings effectively and show compassion towards others, skills crucial for a future in law or politics.
The former Christ the King RC Primary School pupil also finds joy in a range of sports, particularly basketball and netball. She embraces the opportunities presented by various school trips, including visits to the butterfly exhibition at the Horniman Museum and a Women in STEAM exhibition at Google's Head Offices.

Eliza
Former St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School (Walthamstow) pupil, Eliza is a budding filmmaker with a keen interest in the multitude of roles within the film and media industry, from actors and directors to screenwriters and editors. Her dream is to work behind the scenes as a cinematographer or writer, crafting the stories that captivate audiences around the world.
With a naturally mathematical mind, Eliza's favourite subject at La Sainte Union is Mathematics where she thrives on the challenges presented by her teachers. For Eliza, Maths is more than just numbers, it’s about exploring different methods and solutions to find the answer. Beyond her academic pursuits, Eliza is deeply involved in her school community and charity work. She is a dedicated member of the School Council and actively participates in the Debating Club. Recently, she competed in the English Speaking Union (ESU) competition, excelling in her roles as Chairperson and Questioner, and reaching the semi-finals. The topic she tackled was: "Printed books and newspapers. Have they run their use?". This experience has significantly boosted her confidence, enhanced her moral values, and enabled her to develop a host of transferrable skills that will be invaluable in the future.

One of the standout features of La Sainte Union is its remarkable productions, and Emma's highlight was performing in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. These experiences have not only honed her acting skills but also enriched her appreciation for storytelling. As well as participating in the Drama Club, Emma is an active member of the Debate Club and has taken part in numerous competitions such as the English Speaking Union (ESU) competition and the Jack Petchey Award. These experiences have significantly contributed to her growth as a confident and articulate individual.

Hazera
Hazera has truly embraced the vibrant life at La Sainte Union, immersing herself in the numerous opportunities the school offers. She is an active member of the Young Interpreters Club, Bio Robotics Club and Debate Club; has shone on stage in many school productions; and excelled in competitions such as the Trinity College Drama Exam, Jack Petchey Award and the Science Robotics Award. One highlight of her school journey was winning the Science Robotics Award where she competed against other schools in North London. She impressed not only with her talent and skill in creating and coding a robot, but also for her willingness to help others, even those she was up against.
Hazera’s academic interests are just as varied and profound. Alongside her love for Maths and Drama, she has a particular passion for Biology, finding the intricacies of how the human body works fascinating. This passion, combined with her desire to help others, drives her ambition to pursue a career in Medicine, possibly in paediatrics, optometry, or dentistry. Feyi
From her early years in Year 7 to her current studies in the mixed sixth form, Feyi has been an integral part of the school's vibrant community. What she treasures most about her time at La Sainte Union is the strong sense of community and togetherness that permeates across all year groups. Now at the sixth form, she is enjoying the sense of freedom and responsibility as well as being treated as a young adult, encouraging her to take charge of her own learning and make meaningful decisions about the future.
A shining star in the realm of drama and music, Feyi attributes much of her passion to her dedicated teachers who have nurtured her talents and inspired her to pursue her dreams of performing on stage or on screen. She is striving to secure a place at a prestigious drama school, especially after being awarded a scholarship for the Royal Academy of Music's Outreach Programme. Here she hopes to improve her skills and broaden her horizons.
Feyi is also a natural leader, regularly running drama clubs for Year 7 and 8 students at the lower school and supporting the school's productions, which she considers to be the highlight of her year.

Lou
Lou has been at La Sainte Union since Year 7 and is currently studying A Level English literature, computer science and mathematics at La Sainte Union Sixth Form. They have also embarked on the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) where they are delving deeper into their passion for computer science, researching the ethical implications of AI development. Fascinated by the rapid advancements of AI and its profound impact on modern society, Lou aspires to become a software engineer. Their dream course is computer science and philosophy at Oxford University as it encompasses all their interests.
Lou commends La Sainte Union for continuously promoting co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities to support with building key skills and enhancing their CV. A talented public speaker, Lou has collected multiple accolades as a member of the Debate Team, including a memorable experience at the London Regionals of the Ethics Cup. Here, the team explored philosophical topics such as AI in education and fast fashion, impressing judges and audiences alike with their insightful arguments. So much so that they beat Eton and got through to the semi-finals. Lou also participates in Mock Trial club, providing them with an insight into law, and regularly leads clubs for lower school students, sharing their passion for learning and debate.
Lou also appreciates the school and sixth form's dedication to preparing students for the future, with the careers department regularly encouraging students to sign up to work experience, workshops and talks, such as the fortnightly Future Leaders sessions where students gain an understanding from external speakers about various career pathways.

BriannaClass of 2018
Brianna
Former Christ the King RC Primary School (Islington) pupil, Brianna, joined La Sainte Union in Year 7 and has embraced every opportunity with passion and commitment since. Now studying A Levels in Psychology, Biology and Music Technology, she has her sights set on university and a potential career in Psychology. Inspired by her fascination with the human mind, Brianna is particularly drawn to the complexities of mental health disorders and the theories behind them. “The reason I do well in Psychology is because I find it so interesting” she says, noting that the sixth form’s engaging curriculum has only deepened her curiosity.
The Sixth Form offers a wealth of support, including work experience placements, one-to-one careers guidance and a dedicated careers team - renowned as the best within LaSWAP! These resources, she believes, will be instrumental in helping her achieve her university and career ambitions.
Outside the classroom, Brianna has made her mark as Captain of the LaSWAP basketball team, where she led the initiative to organise an unforgettable trip to Belgium. Reflecting the sixth form’s values of equity and community, she worked to make the trip accessible for everyone, redirecting funds that were once allocated to a coach to an initiative to support her teammates who needed financial assistance. Inspired by the impact of this initiative, Brianna is now exploring how to extend this model of support to other clubs across the school.
Brianna’s enthusiasm extends to the arts as well. Participating in the school’s production of Chicago has been a highlight, bringing her closer to her peers and reinforcing the vibrant community spirit at La Sainte Union. “That’s what’s great about this school - it really brings everyone together!” she says.

Casey
Thanks to the flexibility of our teachers and courses here at La Sainte Union, Casey has been able to balance her BTEC Health and Social Care studies and Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) with other sixth form pressures such as work experience and university open days.
Beyond her studies, Casey is actively engaged in the sixth form’s enrichment programme, including Philosophy Club and a reading mentorship programme for primary school pupils. Philosophy Club has sharpened her critical thinking and debate skills, while reading with young children has honed her empathy, patience and leadership abilities. She finds it rewarding to witness the children’s growing passion and confidence for reading. Additionally, she plans to tutor neurodivergent students in her school, offering both academic and social support to help them navigate the classroom environment.
A passionate advocate for inclusivity, Casey was involved in founding the Edaphobic Club in the lower school. Together with her peers, she organised assemblies and PSHE lessons, bake sales and treasure hunt activities, raising over £150 for charities like Mermaids and Mosaic. This initiative won them an LGBTQ+ Alliance in Schools award, underscoring her commitment to building a more inclusive school environment.
Casey’s ambitions are clear. She aims to study Psychology with Counselling at the University of Surrey, drawn by its top-ranked department, research opportunities and work experience placements. With aspirations of earning a master’s degree in psychology, she envisions a future as a clinical psychologist or psychotherapist. Long-term, she hopes to become a mature student and gain a PhD, focusing on research and clinical work to make a lasting difference in mental health care.
La Sainte Union’s careers department has been instrumental in helping her plan for this competitive field. With the guidance of an exceptional careers advisor, she has gained valuable experiences through a UCL life sciences course and a taster day at the Tavistock and Portman Clinic, both of which will help her stand out in her university applications.

Niamh
Niamh's journey at La Sainte Union has been one of hard work, perseverance and remarkable achievement. With her sights set on a career in law, Niamh is thrilled to have recently received an offer to read the subject at the prestigious University of Oxford, a testament to her academic prowess.
Having been a part of the La Sainte Union community since Year 7, Niamh is grateful for the unwavering support and guidance she has received from her teachers. They have consistently gone above and beyond, offering extra hours after teaching time and providing an abundance of free resources to aid her studies.
A highlight of Niamh's time at La Sainte Union Sixth Form was an unforgettable economics trip to New York! Beyond exploring the city's iconic landmarks, Niamh and her peers had the opportunity to visit Wall Street and engage in insightful discussions led by industry professionals.
While Niamh dedicates much of her time to her studies, outside of school she is an accomplished violinist, performing in a local orchestra, and is actively involved in her community, balancing her academic commitments with a job at a local youth and charity centre.
