I believe wholeheartedly in giving back to the community, this, coupled with wanting to help build a better future for my daughter brought me to the decision to join LSU as a Co-opted Governor in September 2021. I look to draw upon my experience in FP&A/Commercial Finance and help contribute to LSU's Governance.

Second only to parents, teachers are significant role models of life-long learning, which promotes knowledge acquisition, competence, and personal and interpersonal wellbeing. The teacher’s role in communicating values and culture to the developing individual cannot be underestimated. In my role as governor, I would like to support teachers in their role to provide a safe supportive trusting learning environment which facilitates the development of healthy, happy competent individuals.

I am a Governor at this school because I wish to see every student thrive, achieve and develop into a caring and kind citizen.I currently work as a Medical Officer in a school in Buckinghamshire and enjoy the role. I have worked as a Metropolitan Police Schools Officer at LSU for several years prior to my retirement in 2017 from 28 years of Policing in Camden. My years working in this school was the most enjoyable of my policing career. I enjoyed building good relationships with the school community and ensuring attendance was high. In my role as a Governor, I wish to see young people flourish and develop as responsible citizens and achieve their goals in life. -
Susan MacqueenFoundation Governor
Susan Macqueen
Working in the NHS as a paediatric nurse taught me to understand the child, their family and the culture they live in. I have been a Foundation Governor at LSU since 2016 and Chair of Governors since 2020. My learning curve has been steep but I have found kindred spirits in the teachers and staff of the school. They care about the same things as me; preparing young people to succeed in the tough world they live in. So at LSU we listen, we care and they achieve.

As the Headteacher, I work very closely with governors to ensure that the school is true to its Charism and that every student at La Sainte Union is safe, happy, and achieves their very best.
I joined the school in 2009 and became the Headteacher in 2017. Leading La Sainte Union is very rewarding: the staff are committed and the students are a joy to teach.
I am proud of the diversity of our school, of the values we instil in our students and of the warm relationships which we foster. Our students grow into confident, ethical and articulate young women who will go on to positively impact their local community and the world around them.
