La Sainte Union Catholic School

Mary McDonnell Prize

Mary McDonnell Prize

Mary McDonnell was a former member of staff who was Head of History and Head of Year 13 at La Sainte Union. She dedicated many years of her life to supporting pupils through the Sixth From, particularly those who did not have a background of higher education. She retired early through ill health, but in her will left £25,000 to the school. This money was used to set up an annual award of two £1,000 prizes, to be given to pupils who had shown determination to achieve and who had proved excellent role models in the Sixth Form.

Congratulations to all our winners of the Mary McDonnell prize!
