Music
Music is a vibrant and inclusive part of our school's culture.
We offer students a symphony of opportunities to explore their musical talents through workshops, performances and clubs.
Our partnership with the Royal Academy of Music provides students with the chance to experience the world of professional music – whether it’s participating in workshops and productions, attending lunchtime concerts or observing rehearsals of renowned orchestras like the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) and the London Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO).
Our diverse range of clubs caters to all interests and skills, including LSU Voices, Voces Divinas, Vocal Harmony Group, LaSOUL and String Club. There are opportunities to shine on stage through regular concerts, showcases, productions and talent shows. Every other year, we take immense pride in seeing our students showcase their talents on one of the world’s most famous stages - the Royal Albert Hall.
Those interested in honing their creative flair further can take up private tuition. We have a team of experienced professional musicians who deliver lessons on the following instruments:
- Violin
- Viola
- Cello
- Double Bass
- Flute
- Clarinet
- Saxophone
- Bassoon
- Trumpet
- Trombone
- French Horn
- Piano
- Guitar Bass

Scholarships
We offer up to 12 students in each year group a Music Scholarship, providing access to a music package that is free of charge to parents and carers. This includes music lessons and access to trips, workshops and activities. Music Scholars have a commitment to participate in our enrichment programme and older students mentor our Year 7s.
Applicants who wish to be considered under this criterion are invited to submit their child’s name for an Aptitude Test when they apply to the school. For our full admissions procedures, please see the admissions page.
