LSU Sustainers
On Tuesday 24th June, the school was invited to attend Camden Council’s Sustainers Fest which was organised by a local action group called Think & Do. This event supported the school’s commitment to the Camden Climate Charter. This is was an educational and interactive afternoon event with 5 key aims:
- to inspire students to develop sustainability projects at their school
- to barrier bust challenges to climate action
- to advocate for climate action to be embedded within schools
- to help students become climate ambassadors and enchant the disenchanted
- to form an eco-system with students from other schools and cross-pollinate ideas!
Ms De’Ath was invited to attend with 8 pupils, who participated in a world café session to discuss themes aligned to the Camden School Climate Charter, as well as an opportunity to consider what a career in sustainability might look like.
The students who attended were; Elsa P, Jacklyn O, Helena M, Queen F, Colleen O, Nyhoka F, Helen T and Sophia R.
They were an absolute credit to the school, engaged in a range of topics and discussions, and interacted with other pupils from Camden schools. It was an incredibly enjoyable event which inspired them to bring their insights back to school. Watch this space for more information about how they are planning to embed the knowledge they gained within our school community.
