LSU staff member awarded Careers Advisor of the Year
National Careers Week has been taking place across the country, providing an excellent opportunity to celebrate best practice in Careers and draw attention to the importance of good CEIAG (Careers Education, Independent Advice and Guidance) for young people.
Carlo Metcalfe, LSU’s own Lead Connexions Personal Advisor, was this week awarded Careers Advisor of the Year 2019 at the prestigious Career Development Awards in Leeds.
It is well known how well deserved this award is, and how many young people Carlo has helped during his time at LSU, particularly young people for whom finding a pathway has been particularly challenging and for whom he has somehow found a way forward.
In addition to helping many pupils, Carlo set up the Camden Careers Forum, which allows all the Careers professionals in Camden to meet, support each other and share best practice. He was also instrumental in the funding bid which has provided all schools in Camden with the opportunity to work towards the Quality in Careers Standard for free, with expert support.
It is simply wonderful to see all these achievements, and years of modest hard work rewarded. Well done Carlo!
