World Book Day 2023

On Friday 3 March, LSU had its biggest celebration of World Book Day to date! Over 70 students and members of staff dressed up as their favourite book characters. See if you can guess who’s who in the gallery below! 

A number of teachers also read passages from their favourite books in disguise – see the reveal of the Masked Readers in the video while others took five minutes out of their lesson to read passages from a short story.

Meanwhile, keen bakers took part in the library’s Great Bookish Bakeoff and whipped up a variety of cakes and confectionary based on works of literature ranging from ‘A very Hungry Caterpillar’ cupcakes to a Harry Potter cake.
