Year 7 Meet and Greet

Year 7 Meet and Greet

On 18 October year 7 played to a packed house. At the concert, the audience bopped away to a diverse range of music including classical, jazz and rock. The celebration of new students was supported by Mr Papadronicou’s BTEC business studies students, who produced some very impressive cakes for the Macmillan Cancer charity – so the entire audience was eating cake, drinking tea and dancing! Many of the year 7 team introduced themselves to the parents  Ms Juckes, the Latin teacher and the pastoral leads. It was a joyous occasion.

Livia Harris, Subject Lead for Music said:

We had a wonderful evening celebrating our new year 7 students with a welcome event that lead into a concert showcasing amazing young voices. A variety of songs were performed by all the students; Eye of the TigerIko IkoNobody Like UOriginal and Space Man. They sang with such enthusiastic energy, they raised the roof! Some brave students even sang and rapped solos! We are so proud of our new students and the commitment they demonstrated in learning the songs and performing with such joy. What a fantastic start to their Secondary experience.

Ms O’Keefe, Head of Faculty, is incredibly proud of the talented teachers in the arts and the new and gifted performers in year 7. A huge thank you to the music department!
